Police ranks A university degree of Law is required for the following duties: The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police, Deputy Commissioner of the NCIP, Chief of Police and Deputy Chief of Police. Ranks of the Icelandic Police Forces are similar to ranks of the Police Forces in Great Britain; they are as follows:  A few examples
